Nice set-up. I'd like to have a garden again, but with the draught we've been having down here and the resultant watering bans, even my trees are dying. I lost a cherry tree and a redbud last year.

It's been raining and cloudy non stop for about a week and a half here. I lost an apple tree to flooding early this year. I'll trade you 50/50...

goldsilverman,

Love the bee hives! That will be one of many projects for me on my land as well.

Quick question, I am not living on my land yet but would it be conceivable to start the hives now assuming I can get out there once every week or two?

Thank you for the video.

Dave

Sure, in fact you don't really want to mess with the hives more than necessary, it sets the hive back every time you go messing around in there. The only problems I see are getting a package of bees this late in the season. I would probably start next year, and prepare this year. Make or buy your hive bodies, frames, top covers, and bottom boards. I would also recommend starting with two colonies so you can compare the strength of the two. If you have the chance and the room start an observation hive, you will learn a lot by just watching them work. Typically you want to pre-order your bees in Feb maybe earlier down south, or you could buy an established hive from a beekeeper.
